Personal Branding

If I were a brand, I’d be… 😜😏😃😆
Even if you work in branding — or dare I say, especially if you do—answering this question isn’t as easy as it sounds. But here’s the kicker:
Whether on LinkedIn, in a job interview, or even over a casual chat, we’re all branding ourselves. Constantly. And let’s be real— most of us are just winging it.
I get it... The thought of working on your personal brand makes some people cringe. It sounds like you need to create a glossy, picture-perfect version of yourself.
But that’s not it at all.
Personal Branding is actually about embracing what makes you you—even if that doesn’t align with what others (or even you) might expect.
Sure, sometimes it’s hard to nail down exactly who we are; it can feel a little messy, a bit imperfect…
But just like a product brand makes something stand out on a crowded shelf, your personal brand helps you shine in a sea of sameness. AND… You just can’t stand out by blending in and being just like everyone else.
You set yourself apart from others by being… yourself. Simple, right?
...Yet oh-so-complicated… 🙄
So, here’s a fun way to start identifying your key differentiators: think of a brand that feels like it just gets you—one that mirrors your vibe, values, or unique style. Now, ask yourself what makes that brand resonate. Is it their bold approach? Their consistency? Or maybe the confidence it inspires?
